7 October 2016Students dancing onstage at Collywood performance.

The bright lights were shining as the students and families of St Joseph’s School, Collingwood, brought Hollywood glamour to the Collingwood Town Hall with Collywood 2016. The night brought together many of the partnerships with community groups and agencies that have become a signature of the St Joseph’s community under the leadership of Principal Trish Taylor.

‘Tonight is a celebration of the arts and the community, and when you bring the arts and the community together, wonderful things happen,’ said Trish.

With a night that combined four short films (including the world premiere of the short film Nobody St Joseph's Collingwood students balance on a plank on stageNose) along with musical performances and circus acts, the evening paid tribute to the many
partnerships the school has developed to provide an experience of the arts with their students.
Arts Victoria, Polyglot Theatre, Dance Fever, Circus Oz and the City of Yarra are just some of the
organisations working with the school. The grand finale brought the whole school to the stage for a massed choir and musical performance. Indeed, wonderful things happened.
